”Etruscan Chamber Tombs – a digital resource for researchers and students”

The seminar serves to inaugurate a new digital resource portal that collects and visualises datasets concerning Etruscan chamber tombs. The first dataset, encompassing ten necropoli around San Giovenale, originated from the thesis The Chamber Tombs of San Giovenale and the Funerary Landscapes of South Etruria by Dr. Fredrik Tobin and makes available place data, descriptions, photos, plans and 3d models. During the presentation, Associate Professor Jonathan Westin will detail the background of the project and how the portal, which is a collaboration between the Swedish Institute in Rome and Gothenburg Research Infrastructure in Digital Humanities, came to be and can be used by researchers and students.
